The most valuable thing we can have in life is the support and love of our relationships. Companionship, connection and belonging are a basic and essential human needs for a fulfilling life. Relationships, whether romantic, familial, platonic, or professional powerfully shape experiences, influencing our mental and physical health and overall contentment and satisfaction with life.
Relationship therapy and coaching is suitable for:
- Romantic relationships such as (but not limited to) married or civil partnered couples, other types of committed or long-term relationships, poly-amorous relationships or open relationships
- Family relationships
- Friendships
- Professional relationships
Relationship issues can arise from various factors including (but not limited to):
- communication breakdowns due to poor or lack of communication or different communication styles
- lack of trust and unhealthy jealousy due to insecurity in oneself or the relationship
- infidelity (cheating or emotional infidelity)
- unresolved conflicts or past betrayals
- financial problems such as disagreements about spending, saving, and debt leading to conflict or unequal contributions to the household
- differing or incompatible values about important aspects of life (e.g., family, career, religion) and goals
- unmet needs when one partner's needs are consistently ignored or unmet
- role imbalance when one partner is consistently taking on more responsibilities or contributing more to the relationship than the other
- boundary violations when partners repeatedly disrespect and cross each other's boundaries
- sexual dissatisfaction or incompatibly
- external stressors
If left unresolved, these issues can lead to resentment, frustration, distance, damage to trust, lack of connection, conflict and eventually the breakdown of the relationship.
My Approach
How I work with you
Through relationship therapy and coaching sessions, I can help you identify, understand and address the blockage/s in your personal and/or professional dynamics by providing a safe and non-judgemental space to explore issues together and develop healthier patterns of relating.
Relationship therapy and coaching can support you to:
- improve communication via an open and honest dialogue and by learning the skills of active listening to build new and healthier communication patterns and develop strategies for more constructive interactions
- resolve conflicts with tools and techniques to address issues constructively, understand the underlying problem, develop empathy, and identify compromises and solutions that meet all partners' needs
- reconnect and strengthen emotional connections by better understanding your own and others' needs, learning how to support and validate each other, setting and respecting boundaries, and strengthening the bond to create a more fulfilling partnership
Relationship therapy and coaching is also a personal journey. In fact, it can also help you as an individual understand yourself, your needs, and your relationship patterns better. It leads to a newly acquired self-awareness which can encourage personal growth. This can benefit all relationships, not just the one addressed by the sessions with me as your therapist and coach.
