 My Counselling Approach

How I work with you

I am a humanistic integrative counsellor.

My counselling approach emphasises your unique potential for growth and fulfilment. It is holistic and creative in unblocking disruptions to psychological health and enabling strength and choice in the ‘here and now'. I integrate coaching skills in my counselling practice when you are ready to work on specific goals.

I use a blend of modalities tailored to suit your needs as a client. This is because my approach honours your uniqueness as an individual and as the expert in relation to your life. This is because I believe that every individual is creative, resourceful and able, with guidance, to discover their answers and solutions.

I offer a safe, non-judgemental and empathic space where I support you to focus, understand and reflect on what has brought you to the session. This process helps you understand yourself better, improve your relationship with yourself and others and identify blockages to your psychological health and growth. It also empowers you on your path towards flourishing, growth and balance where you can make effective and lasting changes in your life and find functional ways of coping with life's challenges.

Our responsibilities for our journey together are to:
  • Discover, clarify, and align with what you want to achieve.
  • Work together to understand your past and your current situation and your ongoing challenges.
  • Support you through identifying and taking action towards the changes you wish to make.
  • Help you to develop new and functional behavioural and thought patterns.
  • Always treat each other with respect and consideration.
